Who are we?
We are Ryan and Erica and we started Act About in 2019. After years of working with other excellent children’s theatre companies (some big, some small) we really developed a passion for entertaining and engaging children through drama and performance. We love it and we like to think we’re quite good at it! You could say that founding a company that relies on face to face contact just as a global pandemic starts is strategically problematic. You would be correct. But here we are and we are ready to go!!!!
Act About is based in the South Side of Glasgow and hope to visit many venues across the length and breadth of Scotland. We are a small company with big dreams!
More About Our Mission
Our mission at Act About is to give children knowledge of the world around them and contemporary issues that will impact their lives. At Act About we aim to build young people’s confidence to make well informed positive choices that will have a lasting impact on them and their wider community.
But how are we going to achieve this?
We aim to achieve our mission by producing high quality, original performances. Each performance is based on contemporary themes that will affect the children of today as they grow. It is important to us that our audiences feel they are very much part of the performance- we achieve this by being interactive throughout the performance and giving every audience member the opportunity to get active, creative and even mindful!
